Personal Protective Equipment P.P.E.
Personal Protective Equipment (P.P.E.) is considered to be the last line of defense for personnel who perform work on or near energized electrical equipment, conductors, or circuit parts.
Per current industry standards, risk assessments shall include identifying the likelihood of occurrence for both Arc Flash & Shock Hazards as well as identifying the appropriate hazard mitigation methods and P.P.E. to be used for completing an activity safely.
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) 130.7(C)(1) NFPA 70E 2024
"When an employee is working within the restricted approach boundary, the worker shall wear PPE in accordance with 130.4.
When an employee is working within the arc flash hazard boundary, he or she shall wear protective clothing and other PPE in accordance with 130.5.
All parts of the body inside the arc flash boundary shall be protected."
